Doll Blogs I ❤ - Media Monday
Also known as the time that ScarlettWrites wanted to take a picture of her dolls in the snow then decided not to because a) it's cold, b) human barely has anything to keep herself warm and can't even get started on thinking about what her dolls can wear outside while looking warm and cozy (I live in the South, don't look at me like that, I usually wear flipflops all year round... not this year) and c) I don't even know how to protect my dolls from snow, and I can't just take 'the cheapest' (Kaleia) outside and leave the others in, that won't be fair... Here's a picture of my cat staring at the snow in admiration of it, while probably also wanting to go out.
I really doubt that I would have EVER started blogging about dolls (and maybe someday koala items, but that'll have to wait until I have the AG stuff all good to go) without seeing others do it first. This is a thank you slash shout out to the blogs that have come before me (and are probably better than me, but hey, what can you do?). I'm not getting paid for this (or anything on this blog here, if I get paid for something I'll tell you guys, I swear), I'm not getting publicity or fame (I'm actively avoiding posting my blog everywhere, I hate it when others do that - I get the point, you want some views, but if your blog is good enough and put enough passion in it, the views will come... hopefully) for this. I'm not getting a big shiny 'best brownnoser ever' award. I'm just saying my thanks. These aren't listed in any particular order or anything, just as I think of it.
AMERICAN GIRL DOLL NEWS
www.americangirldollnews.com
This is mainly my stop for... well... American Girl doll news. When Nanea first got revealed in that one picture, you guys know I was in love. So I found an AG doll news website and read every. single. Nanea. related. article. I counted down the days 'til her release (a month after my birthday), patiently waited for Christmas so there would be a good excuse for me to get her for Christmas, and the rest is history.
The author does not really give out opinions (except for saying 'wow this is SO cool' and the like) but instead just tells news related to American Girl. No tutorials, crafts, or anything like that - just AG news and the occasional stop motion or unboxing video (I don't know if they're any good, I don't watch them).
AMERICAN GIRL OUTSIDER
https://americangirloutsider.blogspot.com/
I like the author of this blog. Nethilia is also the admin of the American Girl wiki, so you know that she knows what she's talking about. She has more hate for Tenney than I do (and she has every right to hate Tenney - she was OBVIOUSLY going to be GOTY until someone on Good Morning America said 'oh, you guys never do colored girls' so poor Gabriela was made up in a millisecond and given a bare bones story, no movie, or anything else for that matter. Gabriela deserves what Tenney gets, not the other way around. #AGDoCGOTY). If you're under 13, don't go to her blog. It's for adult collectors and for big girls (or boys)! I try to keep my language clean here because... I don't know why, but I just do. Maybe it's because I want family people to feel comfortable here or something.
Anyways, back to AG Outsider, you should read her post and see her pics of her Kaya as well as the adult collectors/never too old for dolls one. I stumbled on her website a gooood looong while back, I can't remember exactly when. Knowing that someone older than me loves dolls as much as me makes me feel good (no, not in that way you dirty minded person). Nethilia is very blunt when it comes to bull crap. She talks about AG releases, does some tutorials, talks about her rises and falls in the AG community and more.
LIVING A DOLL'S LIFE (Defunct)
https://livingadollslife.blogspot.com/
I began looking at this blog in mid-2017. It closed in December 2017. Just a slight warning - the author is a Pleasant Company lover (aka thinks Pleasant Company is DA BEST and that Mattel has done EVERYTHING wrong... I will agree that Mattel has done dumb crap (#permapanties) but Pleasant Company wasn't a saint either. Their first 3 dolls (and all of the dolls until Addy) were just the same doll but with different hair and eye colors.). Crafts, tutorials, in-store reports and reviews all live here.
This is where I got Britta/Bridget from. She was a giveaway I won. (And the last doll giveaway they did.) Sorry, can't help but brag about that.
DOLLLIGHTFUL DOLLS
https://jackylina2013.wordpress.com/
I mainly come here for her reviews and doll history talks. That's pretty much it.
The author is religious and you WILL see Christian stuff there. Basically, every almost Christian holiday has a post from her with pictures of her dolls and some kind of prayer or hymn or something.
~Slightly off topic rant~ Religion - Go to your safespace if needed...
If you're Christian, good for you, rock on. If you aren't, good for you, rock on. If you worship the god of feet or something, good for you, rock on. I'm here to talk about dolls and koala stuffed animals. NOT how great this or that religion is compared to this or that. I don't care about what/who you worship as long as it makes you happy, and I'm not here to start a religious flame war or post religion-related things. Any comments talking about how you and your religion are better and how everyone else needs to go away will be deleted. My blog, my rules. If you don't like it, there's this thing called an exit button on your internet browser that you can click to exit this blog. This is the first and the last time I will discuss religion on here (hopefully).
AMERICAN GIRL DOLL FAN
http://www.americangirlfan.com/
I come here from time to time to see if there's any new hairstyles for me to try. Most of the time there isn't, or the hairstyle I want to do requires small bobby pins that no store around me supplies. Still thought I'd mention this site though.
And that's all, guys! Thank you for reading! :) Here's to the start of a great week!
