Celebrities Who Collect Toys! {Media Monday}
Normal citizens are not the only ones who can take their love of toys from childhood to adulthood! Celebs can use their fortune to not only buy extravagant homes but extravagant toy collections as well. Here is a list of some of the celebrities who collect toys.
Demi Moore, who Disney fans may know as the voice of Esmeralda and romance film fans may know as the heroine in Ghost, collects dolls. Not just any dolls though. Porcelain dolls made by top artists [2] and valued at $2 million [3]. Rumors say that she even bought a house [2] just for her 3,000 dolls [3]. Rumors say that her now ex-husband Bruce Willis kickstarted her collection by buying her a couple of dolls while they were dating [3]. Her other ex-husband, Ashton Kutcher, tried to convince her to open a museum but it seems like that did not happen [2].
1) Rosie O'Donnell
Rosie O'Donnell, a famous female comedian, started collecting Happy Meal toys in the 80's while on tour [1]. In 1997, she had 2,500 of them [1]. She also had the original Chatty Cathy doll, a Mrs. Beasley doll, an original Brady Bunch doll, and a host of figures from shows like 'Star Trek' and 'I Dream of Jeannie' [1]. She collects the McDonald's toys in particular because they remind her of her childhood.

Rod Stewart collects model trains when he is asking you how sexy he is through song. For half of his four-decade career, Stewart has been collecting model trains [4]. His setup from 2007/2008 had 100 buildings all decorated in painstaking detail [4]. And all 100 buildings are within a space that is 23 feet wide by 124 feet long [4].
4) Leonardo DiCaprio
Known for starring in films like "Titanic" and "Inception", Leonardo DiCaprio may also be remembered for his action figure collection. He has over 150 "Star Wars" figures [5] (including the vinyl caped Jawa worth up to $18,000), 200 superhero figures [5] (including an entire set of 'Mego Superhero' figures) and approximately 200 robot and space toys. Leonardo DiCaprio sold some of his figurines for a good cause - environmental science.
5) Johnny Depp
Last but certainly not least - Johnny Depp. Everyone knows who he is, whether you've seen him in a Tim Burton movie or walking around drunk as Captain Jack Sparrow. He is the 'cool kid' of Hollywood, and he has been named the sexiest man alive. By 2012, he owned 'dozens' of collectible Barbie dolls, mainly special edition dolls of fellow celebrities [6]. He even makes little outfits and accessories to update the doll so it is doing whatever the celebrity is doing - like having Lindsay Lohan wearing a house arrest anklet from when she was under house arrest [6].
