Sooo.... What Would Happen if AG Closed?

Thank you, Curly from American Girl Doll News for asking this question. I'm going to see if I can answer this question. I'm personally interested to see and/or find out why businesses fail and stores closed. If you are like me and are interested in that kind of thing check out the YouTube channel RodStudios. They have a series called 'how (insert business name here) entered the red ring of death' (based on a metaphor used for something dead or dying, thanks to the red ring a malfunctioning Xbox has).

Let's face it, guys. American Girl isn't doing so hot. Their sales have been falling since 2013 (the year of Saige also known as the time that Caroline was still around). If you want to go into the why, I have an article on how to "fix" American Girl right here on Koalaity Dolls and if that isn't good enough for you, then there is probably a buttload of how to fix/change American Girl online.

Just this year alone, American Girl has lost Toys "R" Us (one of their mini-stores, because American Girl had to, of course, make buying online too expensive and their actual store locations too few and far between) thanks to TRU's own closure, AG has changed CEOs once again, American Girl's store in Saint Louis has closed, some of the bistros have closed, American Girl has been cutting staff, and now they have closed one of their own call centers (and cutting 135 jobs in doing so).

If American Girl goes, it will be missed, yes. Some will be happy to see it gone. People won't be hurting for choices in 18-inch doll choices thanks to every major store basically having their own in-store brand (Wal-Mart with My Life As, TRU with Journey Girls, Target with Our Generation, etc...). Collectors will see their doll's worth go up thanks to AG not being around anymore.

As for me? It won't upset me too much. I'll be a little miffed that I won't be able to buy official Nanea stuff anymore or get any new dolls from American Girl.
